Patundas trek Hunza is especially recommended for those who intend to do short walks for one to five days. It has varieties for those as well who take interest in long treks of up to ten days. However, a round trip starting at Borith Lake and concludes at Batura near Passu is considered a rewarding walk. Most parts of this trek are easy with wild followers and great summer pastures. The only difficult part is grossing glacier. The panoramic views of Batura 7785m, Passu 7284m & Shisper Peak 7611m is superb.
Patundas situated in the upper Hunza between the Batura glacier and Passu glacier at an altitude of 4170m, it’s a climb of 1500 m the moraine of Passu glacier. In a high point surrounded by high peaks of Shisper 7619m Passu Peak 7388m, Baltar Peak 7431m, and Batura one 7885m, Karoon Koh 7458m, Dastagil SAR, and Many 6000 m peak around you. The trek starts from Borit Lake of Gulkin village to Passugar, Luzdur, through summer pastures, beautiful high meadows with limestones.
Welcome at Islamabad airport, and transfer to hotel. After refreshment proceed for city tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which includes famous Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian, Pakistan monument, Damen Koh, Lok Versa, Museum, Rawalpindi old bazaar, Raja Bazaar.
Drive to Naran 6-7 hours, 239 km, after lunch continue drive to Chilas 3-4 hours 113.3 km via Babusar Pass 4,173m.
Drive to Karimabad (Hunza) 6-7 hours. En-route stop at junction point of three great mountain ranges meet, the Karakorum, Himalaya and Hindukush, at Thalichi for photography from Nanga Parbat 8,126m and at Rakaposhi view point for photography and refreshment.
After breakfast we start our trek for 3 – 4 hours walk. We cross the hot, dry ridge to Passuagar pasture, in the ablation valley on the south side of Passu Glacier.
Trek to Luzdher 3-4 hours. Today we cross Passu white glacier, with sections of some crevasses in beginning and end also huge boulders. Luzdher camp is at the base of Patundas meadows; while cross Passu glacier especially in the beginning and at the end our valued clients has to be rope up just for safety precautions. There are no crevasses in middle of the glacier. Have nice view of Passu peak, Shishper peak, Ultar SAR and Popdan peak etc.
Trek to Patundas Pass 4-5 hours 4100m. Today its Steep trek to Patundas Pass, a meadow at the crest of a small hill, this brings you the fascinating area of upper Hunza. The highlight being Patundas Meadows 4575m.a vantage point, which offers views of an ocean of peaks: Shisper 7611m, Dastagil SAR 7885m, Momhil SAR 7343m, Rakaposhi 7788m and many more.
Trek down to Passu and transfer to hotel
Full day excursion to Khunjerab Pass 4733 m, (Pak- China Border) evening drive back to Karimabad.
Morning visit Baltit Fort 700 Years old and Baltit village, afternoon visit Altit Fort 900 Years old, Altit village and visit the women carpenters of Hunza. Evening enjoy water channel walk from Karimabad to towards Hyderabad village.
Drive to Naran 355 km via Babusar Pass 4173 m. En-route stop at various viewpoints for photography and refreshment.
Drive to Islamabad 6-7 hours 239 km, en-route visit Taxila museum and historical sites.
